We are lucky to have the award-winning Ryedale Folk Museum in the village 200 metres from our site. Some of the other local attractions a short car journey away are Castle Howard, NYMR, Eden Camp, Nunnington Hall. Seaside towns of Scarborough, Whitby and historic city of York are all just a 40 minute car journey through stunning countryside.
We can advise on the many local walks and bike trails starting from the village, road cyclists are also well catered for by the quiet country lanes or some of the most challenging climbs in the country. For eating out we are spoilt for choice.The village Pub is a 200 metres stroll or the pubs in Lastingham, Appleton-le Moors or Gillamoor, all offer good food and are within 1 hours walk. Next door to our CL, The Forge Tea Room will tempt you with everything from a full English breakfast to barista coffee and mouth-watering cakes.
For something to take home why not visit The Chocolate Factory or the other craft workshops in the centre of the village. The local market town of Kirkbymoorside (Market Day Wednesday) has shops for provisions. Butcher, Baker, Co-op, Post Office, Chemist, Vets, Doctors. Kirkbymoorside also has an 18 hole golf course.
